Nightstand #1 Top

To achieve the look of cherry flowing vertically though the piece I realized I first had to assemble the four sections where the grain runs parallel to each other than carefully crosscut the assembled panel to incorporate the 2 sections of cherry which run perpendicular to the grain. To ensure tight glue joints and proper alignment of the panel each layer was incorporated individually and the surfaced smoothed to ensure proper fit of the next section. Three hardwood dowels were used to assist with alignment for each section.
