I have tried all the adapters at lowes and depot and I can't seem to get my new PC 390 to hook to my small shop-vac; any one had this issue or have a good source for adapters?
Thee idea on that one is you cut it down to the sizes that will fit your hose end and the sander. I have to use one of the Fein multi adapters (smaller more expensive version of this) on my Bosch half sheet sander to fit my Fein vac.
Here is what I use with my Porter-Cable 343 Random Orbital Sander available from Klingspor for less than $30. It has a good long hose and with the included adapter, it fits into my ClearVue CV06 mini Cyclone connected to my 16 gallon Shop-Vac. The suction end fits onto the sander in place of the stock filter. The hose should fit your 390.

The times I have used it, I used my full size shop vac hose and it fit inside the large end and the small end fit inside the sander and circular saw (PC-MAG) dust ports, so mine is uncut.
Let me add another suggestion -- look in the plumbing department for American Valve flexible connectors -- they are made of rubber and have SS pipe clamps to tighten them onto pipe of different sizes. I use a 1-1/2" x 2" one on the outlet port of my mitersaw to connect my shop-Vac hose to it and another on my Stationary belt/disk sander DC port. These are female/female connectors, but I've found they work well and can be tightened.
