Scrap bin

Well after giving away my large rolling lumber cart I was left with many scraps. I went in the shop today and the tool I needed was behind that pile of scrap. I decided I was not going to move the pile again, so I stopped what I was doing and knocked together this bin in about an hour. I wrapped the top and bottom sides with plywood to overlap the mdf corners for strength.
The bottom is two layers thick and has mid level non-locking casters on it. It is 2' square and 2' tall. It as nice to make some sawdust even if it was mdf

You better double that order :gar-La;

That's a nice bin there Tom. My whole shop is a scrap bin but I doubt I could put it on wheels :swoon:

Trent, If the bin is full then that is my cut off point. Time to cul the bin. I will however be building one for plywood scraps.

I am pretty good about keeping the pile from getting out of hand. I don't save cheap 1x or 2x pine stock and not too much small plywood.

I don't have any of that and my shop is still full of short pieces. It ain't scrap till Sawduster says it's scrap.

Nice job Tom.:icon_thum:icon_thum I could use a couple of those about that size as well, right now I've got scraps in cardboard boxes which doesn't work out the best.

Well owning a sawmill and a slow economy makes for a large accumulation. I fixed the source of the problem, the sawmill is now with my FIL in southern IL :gar-La;
