Stephen, welcome to the NCWW. The best sawdust pile on the internet. I am sure one of us will be able to assist in your quest. In the meantime please go out to the Who we are forum and introduce yourself.
Stephen, welcome :icon_thum You might want to check to see if there is any information on the lathe here http://www.owwm.com/
Also if possible posting a picture might help. I know I have never been very good at remembering the model numbers that machinery.
I have a 60+ year old Atlas lathe, there might be some similarities :dontknow:
The number you have looks to be their serial number. From this page, it seems like a 1955 model (same year as my unisaw).
Like DaveO says, OWWM is the best place to find out about your lathe. They have some manuals you can download on their document reprint page, so there should be one close to the vintage you have.
They also have pictures that people have posted so poke around their site and get back to us with pictures of yours and what you find out.:icon_thum
I'd suggest you try to find info on www.owwm.com -- the Old Woodworking Machinery website. You'll need as much info as you can gather on your lathe's details beforehand, but this is the definitive site for this type of stuff.
