That is stunning! Is it an effect from the lighting, or is the top more brown than the bottom? Either way, it is beautiful.

Wow, Eagle! That is spectacular! I really like the wood/metal combination...very classy presentation.

Cathy, I'm guessing that the cap is reflecting light from a standard lightbulb that is burning at a lower degree Kelvin, giving a yellowish ('warm') glow. The pen itself is reflecting light from the flash, which burns at a higher degree Kelvin ('cooler') which is a 'whiter' or 'bluer' light.

Thanks for the remarks.
At first look the pen isd black and "gold" but the ebony is not a black as I would have liked.
Light is "playing" in the picture but there is some brown in it though the entire cap is not brown.
(clear as mud huh?)

WOW!!! Beautiful.

I always said turning was something I was not interested in. But seeing all these beautiful pens has me thinking maybe I've been wrong. :slap:

Careful there bluewing. That's a very slippery slope you're peering over. I think there is a lathe available on the forum! :rolf: Mike, care to give him a push???

I know very little about woodturning, but I do know the next level when I see it, and I think you might have surpassed it. Another stunning piece if I may say so.
