Recently finished commissions

Hi all
Just thought you might like to see some of my recently completed commissions.

This is a display pedestal --18x18x30" from Brazilian cherry with ebony accent.

These are two smaller pedestals [twins]-- 12x12x32" from Brazilian cherry with ebony accents.

This is a marble top hall table --14x20x30" from Brazilian cherry with ebony and holly accents.

These were alot of fun to make .

I like the pedestals and the table is outstanding.

I like all 4 pieces. The lines of the hall table are very appealing to me, as are the pedestal tops.

I've only used Brazilian cherry on a few small boxes. It's hard and tough on tooling. Should last a few lifetimes, huh?

Nice work, Mike.

Good job on the bookmatched panels in the pedestals. I've worked with jatoba a lot. It's very hard and dense, and requires sharp tools and good technique, but the results are worth it. Very attractive when finished, and durability is superior. Plus, it's fairly reasonably priced.

Thanks for the comments.
I really enjoyed creating these pieces and although the Brazilian cherry is some tough stuff to work with, the end result makes it worth the aggravation.The customer likes the BC so much he now wants me to do his large walk-in closet complete with wainscoting and shelving. Should be fun.
