Without the Vari-grind accessory it's worth about that. The V-arm and grinding platform are simple enough to make yourself. But the Vari-grind jig is the cats meow. I have seen them made out of BB Ply and I guess they would work as well. But factor in the time and you are probably better off getting one already made.
