Hello to all. My name is Terry Davis and I live in Matthews, NC. I just found this site and joined in the middle of the week but have not had the time to come back and introduce myself to the group.
I am not in the woodworking business but am a serious garage type woodworker who really enjoys the time spent in my garage (hot in the summer, cold in the winter) building everything from cabinets to jewelry boxes. I've been in the construction industry either as an electrical engineer or an electrical contractor for going on 40 years. My real job at present is electrical engineering with a consulting engineering firm.
My 2 car garage is equipped with a Steel City deluxe, 3hp cabinet saw with the titanium top, 50" fence and table board, a 14", 12" resaw capacity Rikon band saw, a router table with the 3hp Porter Cable router and router lift, a Jet 6" jointer, a Dewalt 735 planer and a 12" miter saw on a miter saw station with the Kreg stops. I also have a Jet dust collector to clean up some of the mess all of this hardware makes. Yes, both vehicles spend their time outside.
From what I've seen in the small amount of time I've been able to look over the forums, I'm certain that my association with the people involved in this group will be educational and rewarding. It seems that if someone has a question or any need for help such as being able to share a tool or piece of equipment, someone is always there to lend a hand.
I have no pictures of my wife or myself to post at this time, but will eventually get something posted.
Thanks again for allowing me to join your group. I'm looking forward to meeting those of you that live in the Charlotte and surrounding areas in the future.
