Hey I know some of you know but I started a blog a few months ago more to have somewhere to chronicle my woodworking Journey but it's slowly turning into something fun and a little more than just something for me.

One thing I am doing is a thing called Woodworking Wednesdays. I know it's Friday but you can still join in the fun. If you have a blog yourself you can link it up on mine and get other people looking at woodworking projects, if you are so inclined.

I have also started a Series called Women In Woodworking. I am going to try and hopefully reach women who have an interest in Woodworking but are not to sure where or how to start. I am working on this with my wife. She has expressed an interest in woodworking which is what sparked the whole thing. Should be fun and interesting.

You can check out the blog at http://groverwoodworks.blogspot.com

I would love any feedback from you....

Very cool Kevin, since I am unhappily single perhaps I should start a blog to reach women who have an interest in woodworkERS. :rotflm:

Glenn,

I am sure that if you created that you would find someone. :)

Thanks Barbara. It in no way is an evil plot to get my wife hooked on tools and to allow me to be able to get more. No but in all seriousness it is something that I feel that it is something that there is a need for. I am getting pretty good response from the readers and some female woodworkers out there.

Kari Hultman and Carole Rothman both had positive comments about the series potential.

If you ladies on here have a website or blog let me know. I am going to try and feature a new Female woodworker during each weekly post. I think part of getting more women comfortable with the idea of woodworking is to see women actually doing it and being successful and if you would like to write an entry for the series please let me know that as well as I would love to have women contributing to the series as much as possible.

I am excited about it. It will be great teaching my wife.

Hi Kevin, Sharon and I have been woodworking for many years, we have been leaning heavily towards The Dark Side (woodturning) and own a gallery in Salter Path.

There is a woodworking forum called "Women in Woodworking" sponsored by Rockler. Don't know it that might interfere with your blog.

Go for the Darkside. It is a whole lot of fun. :)

I'm not really worried about Rockler's forum. They should be worried about me. :) Nah. I will check that forum out. Thanks for letting me know about it. I'm probably hitting a different segment than they are as well. Most of the women I have been talking to don't know who Rockler or Woodcraft are. They see stuff from Pottery Barn, etc and want to know how they can build something similar themselves.

This is purely out of fun and helping my wife and if it becomes something bigger than that then wonderful.

Do you and Sharon have a site or a blog and I will get you up there as one of the featured female woodworkers.

Thanks Trent I appreciate that. I have the same hope. I know it will go a long way to helping other women. I have already had some great responses from several of the women on this site and my wife and I thank you.

There be women here! My wife (mostly a turner) found this forum about the same time I did. Oddly her end of the shop (workbench, lathe, drill press, sharpening station) is finished and I'm still working on my end.
