Just for the folks who like to see action shots.....

This is part of a big mulberry tree that came down in Hillsborough. Its 19" by 10", the lathe didn't blink (or walk away) during the rough turning!

Notice the use of the French measuring unit, the Poodle :)

That is a huge blank, Jim. My question is how do you turn a poodle???:dontknow:

Mike, this was the rough turning, its in a box to dry for 3 to 6 months.

I'll be sure to follow up with his results.

Only a matter of time (and strong backs) before we see a two poodle, maybe three!

Wow Jim That is amazing. I can't wait to see it when it's finished.

I guess I never realized it was you that had that lathe.

What type of motor do you have/HP?

Oh, its not mine, I built it for my father. He's the turner.

We just upgraded to a 1 1/2hp 1725, which dropped the ~RPM to 310.
