Neat site, lots of info. I used to do woodworking years ago, quit due to lack of patience and money for tools. Older now, a little more patient, not much wiser but I'm finding myself enjoying it very much.

I've built shelves, boxes, frames, etc, always trying to improve my skills. I'm looking forward to attending a wood turning class at Klingspor soon and after that a bowl turning class. Then off to locate myself a used lathe. Right now I'm finishing up a ceder lined keepsake\jewelry box for my daughters 20th birthday.

Hobby's include jeeps, motorcycles, welding and fabricating, and woodworking once again.....oh yeah, I collect straight razors.

Welcome Rob, I am glad that you could join us. I will caution you about going over to the Dark Side  Woodturning is highly addictive and a real blast. If you get involved with it don't be surprised to be spending all your time making piles of wood shavings on the floor and coveting the next greatest turning tool.
I look forward to your input in the forums, and seeing some of your work especially what you turn out :icon_thum

Welcom Rob. Glad you found us. One thing to know about this site. The rule is no project got fisnished, no tool was purchased, nothing good or bad happens without pictures.

Only pictures of woodworking projects I have are up now, plus my jeep. I'll take more of the box I'm making soon, as well as pictures of my shop.

Welcome aboard Rob,

This is the friendliest woodworking site on the web, but I guess you already know that. I do mostly woodworking but also dabble a little in metal, collecting straight razors seem cool so try and post a few pictures of them when you get a chance.

Jimmy:)

Thanks all, I posted other pictures, finished the box today. First one, made some mistakes, the next couple will be better.

Jeeps been on jack stands for a couple years, need to get it finished from my last axle breakage. I got burned out working on it and other folks custom fabrication stuff. Roll cages, bumpers, etc. Spend most of my weekends riding or woodworking now.

Rob -- hey, I like that name -- welcome to the site and sounds like you'll fit in very well! But woodworkers do not make mistakes -- they may be design improvements or features, but not mistakes -- one of the key duties you'll have is to refine them where they are intentional -- works for all of us! Your next assignment is to read the FAQs on posting pictures, because we all love the instant gratification of seeing it! Around here, "no pics, it didn't happen". And while you're wandering about the site, be sure to check out our Link and Download Libraries for more stuff.

Good to have you with us!

So you want to see the picture, not go to the gallery. I can do that.

Here you go.
