Re: Gonna be expanding my workshop

Well a coat of paint will help for sure. So your concern is you will have two different roof lines/styles. My simpliest suggestion is to keep them as far a part as possible. Then no one will care. If that is not possible and you really want to match them up then you will need to modify the roof line on one or both. Just a second thought. Can you put the new one behind the old one?
Yeah, paint will do wonders, especially if you have a two-color scheme (e.g. white/ green). Congrats on the new space!!!

BTW, if you need to store your tools somewhere "temporarily" while you move things around, like a Kapex or something...just let me know. I have a little extra room I think. :rolf:

Do you have room in the back of your existing building. You have the Gable thing kind of going on the front of your shop. You could keep the new a separate building behind, install a door in the back of the exisitng and a raised walkway to your new building. Paint the new to match. Just a thought.

Got the new space in place this week. When it was delivered it was yellow, and a drab shade of yellow it was. I enlisted a couple of family members to see if they could make it look a little better and I think they did a great job. These photos were at night so they aren't the best.

I decided to park it beside the current shop as there was way too much of a slope and too many trees behind it. The Color matches my house better than the current shop but as the current shop did, it will darken a little with time.

Got some wiring to do and some air lines to run before I put anything in it. It is a pain to wire with everything in the way, damhikt:BangHead:. The inside picture is not good. It is really clean and roomy as it is right now. With the move and the paint I have $350.00 invested in it. Don't think I got hurt. I Priced the building from it's original builder and they want close to $4000.00 for a new one:swoon::swoon:. I think I did ok. I have given up on tying them together. I'll just leave them as they are.

Glad your addition got there Tracy! :eusa_danc

I tell ya right now, if those two buildings were in my backyward, they would become one building with a quickness. Can't say that it would be up to code, but it would not leak and it would withstand hurricane force winds. :wink_smil

Wish I had the talent and know how to do that. I can do do the work but getting it planned out is my problem:BangHead:.

I can help you with the wiring if you need me to. What do you have in mind? :icon_scra

Lots of outlets and some fluorescent lights. Maybe a small sub panel from the 100 amp service in the main shop.

Tracy,
looks goood at any price let alone the price you paid.Is your original building gonna be repainted. As far as tying them together, different roof lines would make it tuff to make it look right. It would be some interesting valleys. If you need help with your wiring let me know if I can be of any help.

Greg, you have been to my house. I kinda like the contrasting colors. The building not pictured (the one to the left of the original shop) is the same color as the new building. I actually have enough paint left to do the original shop but I ain't sure I want to change it.
