When I got my copy of FWW Archives 2009, I found a minor but significant problem and the very minor permanent fix for it. After installation, clicking on the FWW icon opened the software but it took fully 90 seconds to start up. I found that there is an extraneous false path shown in Properties for the icon that apparently causes the software on startup to search for more than a minute for the starting subdirectory.
The fix: Right click on the FWW icon and select Properties. The Shortcut tab should show. In the field "Start in", there was text indicating to enter a path (probably leftover during development). Select that field and delete the text (make it blank). Click OK. Now start the software and it should start up within about 10 seconds.
I don't know how long in annual releases this problem has existed or whether it affects all disks. I notified Fine Woodworking of the problem and fix and received a "thank you".
