Alright, I think this is enough for my staircase, and may be worth the 4+ hour trip. I think I can come up with $775. I know that's a bit low in the bf price, but I have to factor in fuel and time and such. Let me know

BW Please:-D

Ok you'll be coming from Chandler, NC? that's quite a haul. I'm thinking a 1/2 way point is around Winston-Salem. I would be glad to hump it that far, but would have to be the weekend of the 16th since I already have plans for next weekend. A friend of mine told me about a Bobcat 756 skidsteer for sale by private owner in Greensboro and I need to get out there and look at it. I was going to try and get out there the 16th. So if the 16th is do-able for you, it would work out good for me too.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks

I am out of town from the 14 to the 18th unfortunaately. I am willing to make the haul out to you any time after that date. Maybe the weekend of the 22nd? Iwill have a good sized trailer, and maybe I can do the NCWW Express for any western members wanting some booty from Jeff's. Let me know if that will work for you. I can send payment or partial payment early if needed.

I'm still hoping someone who is going to Harbor Freight is also going to WG's on the 16th and can pick up my sycamore for me.

If I'm not that lucky, Al - if you could take mine to Greensboro, Barbara (b4man) will get it and get it closer? Or David, if you can pick it up we can get it from you?

David no need for payment, I try and not do it that way. I really want folks to look at the lumber their buying and make sure they are happy with it first.

Consider it yours, it's not going anywhere but sitting there air drying. Shoot me a PM with your number and best times to call and we'll work something out for delivery and pickup. I would still like to meet you 1/2 way, I can push out my trip to Greensboro another week or two. Anyways we'll figure something out when we chat on the phone.

Thanks

Kathy, Al has your thin sheets of QS Sycamore, I personally helped load them in his van today.

BTW thanks everyone for coming out in the pouring rain to pickup your wood. Funny thing about 20 mins before 3:00 it was sun shining then about 5 till 3, I head thunder then the rain came. But we got everything loaded, a little wet but loaded never the less.

Thanks again

Thanks to you Jeff - it was great meeting you.

I really appreciate the Walnut and Spalted Elm you got me. I look forward to making something out of some good wood now that I'm 'graduating' from the pine and poplar I had been buying at homedepot. My wife took one look at the wood and instantly thought of 3 or 4 more projects she wants built for her . . . . . .

Thank you both, Al, I'll try to get Barbara to get a hold of you, unless you are planning on going to WG's on the 16th (it's really a social gathering).

Jeff,
do you still have the red oak, is it flat sawn or quater sawn.
curt

Curt, it was flat sawn and it's in wide board (over 12" wide but no wider than 24"), it'll need to be finished off in the kiln before it worked. What you'll find is a mix of Flat, Rift and QS lumber.

I also need to pull a piece down and measure the MC and see what kind of shape it's in. It was all cut @ a fat 5/4 because I like to work in full 1" stock. I can almost be 100% sure it's below 25% MC and would only need a short time in the kiln to bring it down to 6~8% and sterilize the load.

Personally, it pains me to have to part with it. Odd as it may sound, Red oak is my favorite lumber to work with and this tree came out of my back yard. It was hit by lightning and died, it had to come down, so I took it and had it made into lumber. I really do need to get it out of the shop. My shop is a mess, I would like to clean it out and rearrange some things, so I can work in there again.

Thanks

Jeff,

I am in need of some darker material for a top to some stools I am making. I would prefer Cherry as a good color match. I am thinking that I only need 25 to 50 bf. The piece will end up being 13" sq x 5/4 thick finishes. I will gladly glue up some pieces to make the blanks.

John

Please let me know.
