Since I"ve never been to one of these are the specials there worth waiting for. I need to pickup a dust collector and various other misc items clamps etc etc.

I see they finally have it where you can get the tickets on-line rather than having to wait in the huge lines they always had. That was always the hardest thing about getting into one of their shows.

This show is totally woodworker oriented so I have hopes that it will be worth while. The economy could slow this show down a bunch though. It has been getting more and more like a flea market with more of the ultra cheap vendors pushing their wares than in the past. At least it is close and some of the major players have been coming!

According to the flyer I received it is implied that 'Nahm' is gonna be there but it doesn't say what day(s). The show is also heavy on educational seminars. A lotta the major tool manufactureres & distributors will have booths and even Wood Magazine is putting on a jig making sesiion. I plan to go. If for nothing else, it'll be a good day for a meetup with some newer members that may be there.

I know that I'll be there -- almost certainly on Friday, but we will probably car-pool down from the Asheville area as we did last year.

Gotcha6: I received the flyer too and my reading doesn't confirm that 'Nahm' will be there -- they just are enticing you to enter a drawing. But a key presenter will be Brian Boggs on hand tools.

decibel: You may find some "Show Prices", but be sure that you've done your homework on models you're interested in and check for their best prices before you go to the show.

I've been attending this show for more than 10 years. It's smaller now, but still fun.

Have not been in years but will go this year. Anyone interested in meeting for breakfast or lunch.

I think we need someone very good at organizing these types of events to set this up.

I volunteer Jeremy:rotflm:.

My experience is that if you buy tickets at the door, you not only have to wait in line, but also have to buy a 3 day pass and pay the going rate. However, you can go to the Woodworking Show web site and buy a one day pass on line at a reduced rate.

The verbiage in the ad was ambiguous, but it did imply that without saying when:

"Delta/Porter Cable Invites you to participate in the Meet Norm Abram at the New Yankee Workshop Sweepstakes"

It could just be bait.
I'm up for meeting elsewhere for a meal before, during, or after. I'll probably do Saturday, but Friday's not out if there's enough interest.

I'll be there on Friday, & maybe Saturday. Toolman and Walnut Jerry, I hope to see both of you at this show too. I don't really need to buy anything this year, but I'm sure that I'll come home with a bunch of stuff anyway. I always do.

I've seen the same sweepstakes advertised elsewhere. It's a sweepstakes to visit the shop, meet Nahm and watch a filming of the show.

I'm debating going to this show. I'd have to go Saturday.

Last time I went I bought a nice bandsaw so LOML is a little gun shy. :rotflm:

Only thing I NEED is a LA medium shoulder plane. I wonder if LV discounts at the show? Anyone know? :eusa_thin

Is anyone from the Raleigh area going to the Charlotte show?

I need someone to visit the LV booth on my behalf. I want to go but LOML doesn't want the hassle for an overnighter...hotel, dogs to board, dragging along 2 teenage kids that don't think WW shows are really cool, that kinda stuff. :dontknow: I don't really see a problem but she says my blinders are on. :nah: well, maybe.

The show discount will be pretty nice and I [strike]want[/strike] need a medium shoulder plane. LV makes a very fine one and I'd like to buy it.

Please PM me if the shoe fits. I can handle payment I just don't know if I can make it to the show.
