strips

Can anyone use short strips of white oak?

I have some short white oak strips measuring 1"x7" L, 3/8" thick, i have about 41 of them. The wood is grade A1 kiln dried wood. There are no checks or cracks in this wood. It would be great for creating pieces for custom glue ups for woodturners. If you are interested in these strips and are...

HDPE wear strips

Was in Agri Supply (A man's mall) today. The Garner store now has a supply of the 3/8" X 1" X 120" wear strips in stock. They make excellent runners for table saw sleds etc. I didn't check the price, but last ones I bought were around $12.00 each. I rip them slightly over width (3/4"+) and using...

Cedar strips

I need a whole bunch (250+) of cedar strips cut to 1/8" x 3/4" from mostly clear lumber. Desire strips to be around 6-8' long. Consistent and square is a requirment. I'm thinking about buying a band saw and doing it myself but I'm not sure what a local shop might charge me. If the price is...

veneer strips on turned projects

Have any of you tried applying veneer trim strips to turned projects like pepper mills and bowls? I purchased a book on the subject but it turned out that it was more about turning the object than applying the veneer. Do you have to wet the strips so they will bend around the radius?:BangHead:
