IWF Starts Tomorrow in Alanta

IWF, the big boy tool and supply show starts tomorrow (Aug 25) and runs through Saturday, in Atlanta, at the world Congress Center. If you are in driving distance of Atlanta, you should make an effort to go. We have a 6:00 AM flight in the morning, and will probably eat breakfast in the CNN...

IWF Aug 25 - 28, 2010, Atlanta

This is the "Big Boy" show. If you haven't been before, you just can't imagine what you have missed. Takes three days to see MOST of the show. If you are thinking of flying to Atlanta, you don't need to rent a car. Just pickup the MARTA in the airport, go to Five Points and transfer to west...

A Long but Enjoyable Day at IWF

Mark Spagnolo (The Wood Whisperer) gave a thorough demonstration of the new Kapex sliding compound miter saw by Festool. What a nice guy and a great tool! His wife was there, too and she was doing a Live Pod-cast to their website while I was there (I'll need to check it out for re-runs!)

The ShopBot Buddy -- this is a great design for a smaller shop CNC machine -- the work piece is moved along the X-axis from under the table and the Y- and Z-axes move across overhead -- allows larger work pieces on a smaller footprint.
