I set about designing what I hoped would be a better mousetrap. I cut the plastic and my son welded it for me. Maybe this will help others with a similar problem...
This picture shows the shroud up against the router. I could not get it as close to the router as I would have liked if I want to allow the router table surface (and attached router) to open without hitting the shroud.
I made this shroud from cardboard as a prototype. If it works well, I'll try building something a little more sturdy. This shows the from above. The 4" duct comes through the floor of the router cavity and splits into 2 x 2/5" lines - one enters the shroud and the other exits the hole...
I would like to eliminate that ultra-fine dust that gets airborn and settles on everything in my garage even in the furthest corners. I will only be running one tool at a time so I don't need any more CFM than would be required for one tool.
Do the sub $200 systems work well at capturing...
I have quite a bit of 4" PVC pipe and fittings. In my current shop, I attempted to use it to set up a dust collection system but had little success.
In my new shop I would like to collect dust efficiently and all that I have read from books and dedicated sights and heard from the forums is...
