Wood stablizing question

I was giving a nice pen turning blank awhile back and they told me that I needed to stabilize it - does anyone know how to do this?

You will have to find some one with a stablization system. Stablizing is a process of injecting Resonal 90 loctite which is platic into the wood to make it hard....We should have our system soon...It was suppose to be here this past saturday, but I haven't heard from our stablizer builder...I will contact him and let you know....We should also be able to inject 5 colors also..

When someone says that about a single pen blank, I think they generally mean bathe it in CA (the glue, not the state ). Go hunt up Sawduster's posts on turning sweetgum balls and pinecone centers.

I've used minwax wood hardener, available at the BORG. Just let it soak a couple days.
