Where can I get a short piece of 6" I beam or have one wielded together? I am looking for a piece of steel 5-3/8 x 3-1/8 wide by 6" high with 4 7/16 clearance holes and 4 3/8-16 taped holes to add a riser to my band saw. Does any one know where I can get this or have one made at a reasonable cost?

Thanks in advance:icon_thum

I don't think you want I beam, I think it needs to be a solid block to withstand the bending stress of a tight band.

I looked at riser kits but the box tubing with a long bolt will not work with my saw this is what I have

Nick, you may want to have a piece of rect. tubing cut to length and two plates added to it. You could substitute four pieces of angle iron for the rect. tubing. The plates need to be at least 1/2" thick. The plates could be drilled for the hole pattern of your saw. Then full length bolts could be run from casting to casting. After welding, the plates would have to be machined parallel though. Otherwise, the upper casting could be thrown out of alignment.

Thanks Bruce and Jeff
Is there anyone here at NCWW that can do this or can be recommended?
