No real magic here. I love coffee and I love woodturning. I haven't been able to do much turning lately, so tried my hand at a wooden coozie. A few lesson learned, like don't drill the center hole longer than the mug will be....now the Minister of Finance wants one, may try and dye hers. Sanded to 400, two coats of Deft Satin Sanding Sealer sanded with 400 between coats, then several coats of rattle can lacquer. Thanks for looking.

Scott, this is some of the Maple Rob and I cut up down here. It's curly from top to bottom, pith to bark.

Kernnal, I bought this kit from Woodcraft, but for the next, I'm going to the Dollar store get some of their stainless lined mugs and strip the plastic shell off. Much cheaper.

Nate,

As much as I love the convenience of Woodcraft, you're right about the dollar store liners.
I've used quite a few of them making our special brand of mugs.
The only problem is erratic supplies when you go the Dollar Store route.
