Veneer subtrate

I've got a question that may not have a correct answer. What is the best substrate for veneering? I'm thinking Baltic birch or MDF?:dontknow::icon_scra:eusa_thin

I would go with the MDF. It is more stable then the BB.

Me too, MDF is the way to go.

MDF is excellent, but HEAVY!!!! BB would work just as well, as would Luan plywood, with half the weight. If you are using paper backed veneers just about anything will work, except chip board.
