he mobile base is decent, and you can make it fit the tool exactly since you have to supply your own hardood stock.
I have a bunch of these, great for smaller glue-ups (boxes, face frame). The clamps longer than 18" tend to flex under pressure, but the 12" and 18" hold up well. The new molded handle is much easier to turn than the old ones.
That is a great price!! I may be wrong, but I think they are genuine DeStaco toggle clamps which go for $13 - $15 at Woodcraft.
The new ones with the easier to use quick-set pressure adapter like the one below go for $17 - $19 at Rockler. You could probably make your own adapter for the HF ones. I have some of the original clamps on my taper jig that I think I will modify like this.
