Perhaps he is questioning the curvature on the cab roof/top.
Maybe, I just sketched a curve and cut it with my bandsaw then hand planed it smooth.
Just getting a feel for the direction we are going. Good?
Looking good, Mike. You don't find many children's toys with hand cut dovetails. Nice!
Heirloom quality toys, something unique in my family. The only thing I inherited was a mystery. I want to leave more than I received.
Today I made the smokestack/ steering wheel. I used my 30mm Continental spindle gouge and a parting tool. You can see at one point I had a little tear out. I was cutting pretty heavy. Went back with a couple light fine cuts and it mostly cleared up. Sanded with 400 grit and it’s all good.
Have had very little time to work on this.
Tiny steps…
Mostly finished… I think.
There is a 5/4 board screwed down over the axels.
I screwed everything instead of gluing so I can take it apart if anything gets broken.

Thanks, my daughter picked out the colors. She wanted it bright and bold.
