Lightly wipe the piece with mineral spirits and the goo will be gone (gee, isn't there a product by that name?)

+1 = This is how I get the pattern off as well - But you still have to be careful when you wipe the MS across the small delicate parts - Like Cathy says "lightly" - dapping(sp?) would even be better = and make sure you use a lent free cloth
