Vase made with Aspen, Peruvian Walnut and Teal Dye Stabilized Maple Burl.

Approx 14 inches tall and 8 inches wide.

Floating bottom (thank you Malcolm Tibbetts for the suggestion)

10 coats of Shine Juice.

Yes. I have usually made my bottoms solid because segmented bases tend to want to move more than I was happy with. So I tried this option and liked it very much.

Looks great, really like the Aspen. What's it like to work with?

It is super easy to work. It’s the softest hardwood. I’d never use it for furniture based on how soft it is but it turns beautifully and the chatoyance is nice.
