Router Jig Locator

This is probably one of those things where everyone has been doing this and I just thought of it, but...
I use a lot of router jigs because I am not very good at freehand work. Clamping them to the bench can be a pain so I have started adding a couple of 3/4 dowels to the bottom that line up with the holes in my bench. These pictures shows a simple mortising jig for 1 1/2 stock. I don't need any extra clamps to hold it firmly to the bench.
And, yes, I know I need to build a real woodworking bench. This one was supposed to be a temporary bench when I made it in 2015. but now I have moved it twice and grown rather fond if it.

Bill, I really like that idea. My bench is designed such that it is a challenge to clamp things to it. I may drill some holes and make a few jigs like that.

Oh and a piece of scrap plywood on some sawhorses is a real woodworking bench - shoot some folks have to use the dirt floor for their bench...
