I made these last weekend with wood scraps. The wood on the pens are cutoffs from Sierras and the bases are made from the black walnut I bought at the very first black walnut group buy last year in Raleigh.
The first one is cocobolo and the second is maple burl.
Thanks for looking,
Rick

Wow, really, really nice!!! I especially like the Cocobolo one, the dark of the wood works great with the "bark" of the antler, and the base is well designed.
Outstanding :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

I applaud you for thinking out of the box.
It appears you proved that you can put antler, wood and and casing in one pen but they do not appear to me as if everything "belongs".
A suggestion would be to make the casing as a "longwood" pen and lose the wood or the antler.
That's my opinion and nothing more.
