Many years ago I read several books by Eric Sloane. Tonight I have gotten a few out that I had on the bookshelf and read "A Reverence For Wood" Cover to cover. I don't know that I appreciated his writings the first time I read his books. I really enjoyed it this evening.

I will be at the library this week to check out "Diary Of An Early American Boy". Which I have also read before but don't own a copy. Either that or I'll check out Amazon for a copy.

For all you antique tool buffs. I also have a copy of "A Museum Of Early American Tools"

I am going to have my hands full with the books that I just ordered.

Your book reminded me of something though.
When we went to the Biltmore at Christmas, we stopped by the woodworking shop there on the grounds.
The tools were all period. It looked just like it would have 100 years ago.

I was amazed at how little some of the tools have changed over the years. It seems that the only real change is to add a motor. I bet that if you really studied "A Museum Of Early American Tools" , it would give some real insight into the best way to use the tools today.
