No way!!!! You really carved those? Wow. I'm not sure which impresses me more: the carving or the paint. Really nice. I'm going to retire my carving knife now.

I make my own fish scale burning tips .
Here is the fish in sealer after detail next ill add lead to belly and attach the fins.Primer and paint.

Yes they are 025 sheet aluminum, wood fins would break in use. These decoys are designed for spearfishing under the ice and decoy collectors .Decoys are made so that they swim in a circle to attract game fish like Northern pike or musky to within spearing range .There is also a large collecting community of decoy hunting and fishing collecting.

Holy Crap that is amazing!!!!! Seriously I have tried to carve and well it has not gone well. What kind of wood did you carve these out of?

Do you draw your own patterns? I've done some relief carving and would really like to learn to do 3D.
