Guys,

If I have sprayed on a single layer of zinnser primer and it looks like a got good coverage (on poplar and birch ply), is it necessary to put on a second coat? I am finishing with Sherwin williams pro classic water borne. i plan on 2 coats of that over the primer.... Am I good to go or should I spray on another layer of primer?>

Thanks,
Shawn

As long as you have a good coverage I would stick with one coat. Zinnser primer adheres tightly and provides excellent "tooth" for your top coat. I primed with Zinnser on my OSB shop walls and my eggshell finish top coat turned out well. :wsmile:

+1. I agree w/ Glenn. One coat of a good primer is generally enough, especially w/ two top coats.
