Porter Cable Gloat

Went to estate sale during lunch and picked up a P/C biscuit joiner for $80 and a 3hp P/C router for $90.

Here's a pic of the router from the auctioneer's site. Its in really good shape, will need to add a speed control for the router table (and a lift TBD) - but its a MADE IN USA model.

Good score. I have that model D handle router and love it.
I would advise against using it with an external speed control. The bigger PC routers use soft start which is not compatible with common speed controls

Be prepared for "sticker shock" on the speed control. It's on the north side of $100. This is for a control assembly that PC probably paid no more than $5.00 for from a third party vendor, as PC didn't actually make it. OUCH!

Made in USA the best. I can tell they are older tools because of the steel cases. The tools appear to be pristine. Be glad I was not there to bid against you. Just kidding. Great score.
