planer bit for the router

I buy the $5 rabbeting bit from Woodcraft. (Woodcraft's $5 bit deal is back, both online and in Raleigh store.) I remove the bearing, and grind off stud that bearing mounts on. Now I have a planer bit for cutting flat bottoms, or leveling something that won't it into the planer. I also have a spare bearing to put on another bit. $5 well spent.
