So JOAT posted this thread the other day in honor of the National Speak Like a Pirate Day, or maybe it was just a coincidence. Eitherway this was a good idea and my 3yr old is going to be a pirate for Halloween. So I figured, I might as well make him a treasure chest.

It still needs a coat of paint and perhaps some hardware, but it's already well loved and currently storing some of his treasures.
We sanded the edges some, just to knock off the rough edges from the band saw.
Sanding is serious stuff.

Certainly won't qualify as fine woodworking, but he had a blast working on this. I've got another one cut out. I hope to do a better job on it and donate to charity auction this fall. Thanks for looking. Also special thanks to JOAT for the post, or I'd have never thought about doing this project.
