I have a friend who wanted a Pittsburgh Steelers pen. I wanted to use a football clip, which is made for the slimline, but he has very large hands and I didn't think a slim would be comfortable.

So, here is my first attempt at a one-piece slimline (also my first plastic pen).

I'm not a pen turning expert by any stretch of the imagination, but it seems that is the thing people want me to make for them most often, so I try to make it more interesting by trying different things.

It was actually easier than a regular slimline.

I had to drill from both ends of the blank to get all the way through. The blank needs to end up 4.5 inches.

The top tube gets glued in.

The bottom tube gets pressed onto the nib and transmission, but does not get glued in.

You extend the point by holding the nib and turning the pen body.

You change the refill by pulling the nib, tube and transmission out.
