Received my MADE IN USA Nicholson #49 and #50 rasps a few weeks ago.
I am VERY happy with them!

Some time ago production of the rasps moved from the US to Brazil and the quality suffered.

Are the as good as the Auriou? Nope, but for half the price they are really close for general shaping and they are FAR better than any other rasp I have tried. I still might spring for an Auriou 12 or 13 for finer work but that will have to wait a while.

I got them from Boggs Tool:

I bought a 49/50 pair a few years ago for those infrequent times that only a rasp would do. Guess what? - I am using them for a lot more things that I ever thought possible, from fitting joints to fine-tuning a shape. Well worth the investment.

I have a #49 & #50 and use them all of the time.

Has anyone out there used the Kutzall rasp and kutzall round rasp from Veritas? I tried them at the ww show in Charlotte this past weekend and was quite impressed. I also tried the "float" style rasp which was also impressive. I had tried the float rasps at the Lie Nielsen event at the craft center at NCSU. I just cannot make up my mind if these are worth the price of gold that Lie Nielsen and Veritas charge for their products.

Anyone use these regularly?
