Need some help identifying this wood

Got a friend working on a table and he’s trying to figure out the wood. It’s lighter in color and he described it as not being very heavy which is kinda throwing me off. I figured it was white oak or ash. But idk figured I’d ask. The first three pic are sanded top and the darker one is the bottom of the table.

The first 2 pics look exactly like some pecan I have in my barn. But I suspect that wood is ash.

I zoomed in on a couple of those shots. I could see medullary ray specks on one surface similar to what one sees on cherry or beech. I think its impossible to tell for sure. My first guess would be something from the birch family. The surface is diffuse porous like birch/cherry/beech, etc rather than ring porous like the oaks or semi-ring porous like mahogany or walnut.

Welcome to the forum Brett. You have an interesting table there. It’s a possibility that there could be more than one type of wood in that table. At a glance it resembled Ashe or Pecan but after looking closer Birch would be my guess. Check out the link Casey provided and see if that helps, and good luck. Also, if you could go to the forum title Who we are and introduce yourself that would great, and let me be the first to welcome you to the site. Thanks for joining us.
