Need mechanical pencil

I need to buy or trade for a mechanical pencil in bone, horn or antler.

My daughter said the only thing she would like is a pencil for her graduation present.

I don't turn pens so I need some help. Anybody ever made one of these?

if you are interested in making one for her you can borrow my lathe for a week. I have a pen mandrel and 7mm,8mm, and 9mm bushings. Ii dont use them that often, so you can keep them at your house for a week or so. I think I'm about 1 1/2 hour away though

I really don't have time to make anything else for a while. I'm already a year behind on one project and over two years behind on another. I am up to my elbows in grass and weeds that really need to be cut before I get copperheads in the yard again.

Appreciate the offer to borrow the mandrel, I have a lathe, but maybe some other time.

I'd like this to be very professional, she will be writing her novels with it.
