I just received the August issue of Woodworker's Journal and in the "letters" section on page 10 there is a school shop project written by the instructor. The instructor saw an article last year on how to make Memorial Flag Cases and thought it would be great learning tool for his students. They set out to make a flag case for every fallen Oregonian (approximately 80) in the current war. The students designed and constructed jigs for each major step of the project. They also solicited donations from businesses and were never turned down. Rockler was listed as a donor among the many Oregon businesses. The Oregon National Guard is helping them with the last hurdle of getting the cases to the families of the fallen soldiers. This was a great project for the shop class to give back to the community and those who gave so much for our freedom.
