**** to all.
I just got a circa 1939-1940 delta 12" model 1640.
the base is homemade and was built for a giant.
I'm 6 ft tall and want to build a new frame and would like to know what height is your base to the bottom of the lathe table.
I am also looking for a complete tool rest for this lathe.
Grizzly has one i'm thinking about, but will have to cut the tool rest off.
this the 24" one they have in their catalog.
Please PM or email me if you hyave time to measure your lathe or have an old tool rest lying around you'd like to part with.
Thanks,
scott

Scott-------A good height for the lathe is having the center point at elbow height. That puts a variable on the height of the stand itself. Make it high enough that you do not have to bend over to do your turnings.:)
