Lathe Height

I am about to build a stand to mount my lathe on. What is a good height to have it at?

It is said that the center of the lathe should be at elbow height.

I prefer the height of the PIT of the elbow. Elbow height, depending upon measuring method, can very several inches.

I built my stand so the lathe centers were elbow height and it feels right. I had it lower on my bench and then higher with spacers and neither was comfortable although higher was worse than lower.
