I have a B&D 3/8" Hole Shooter drill that I use with my Kregg Pocket Screw jig. After years of using a keyed chuck ( which slipped by the way), I changed it out for a "Soft Grip Pro Keyless chuck a couple months back. There has been no slipage in the new chuck. Easy open and close. Well worth the $15 I paid for it at HD. I bought another one for second drill. I also bought the 1/2" for my big drill, but haven't installed it yet. Both Lowes and HD are set to stock these chucks, but the Lowes in Apex, and Walnut Street in Cary, only have older style chucks.

Thanks for sharing that. I am in the market for a new chuck. How soon will they be getting them?

Bruce, let us know what you think after you put it on your DP. Be great, wouldn't it!

BTW, not showing up at either web site.

BTW, not morse taper; only screw mount.

Woodcraft sells a keyless chuck for drill presses. Enco (use-enco.com) also sells them, and usually has one or more brands on sale each month. Neighbor has one on his Bridgeport mill. Power reverse makes it handy to use.
