A friend of mine wants to get one of these pens for a friend of his. The friend will be with the PD for 20 years in a few weeks and he would like to get the friends name the anniversary and the PD on it as well - I told him that I didn't know how that can be done but I would ask the experts - well here I am asking for your help:gar-Bi With the wood being very thin I don't know how it could be burnt in to it and I thought maybe a jeweler could etch it all in to the black part put I do not know how thin that wall is - what are your thoughts/ideas on this?

Since you don't know how thick the wall is, laser etching might be the safest route. There are a few on the forum with laser cutters and laser engraving businesses.

give a shout out to woodarts. I think he had a way of doing what you are trying to do. Did you see his stuff at the ral klingspor last year?

Brad has laser engraved very thin pens for me in the past. He did names on two of the pens we sent to the troops last year.
