Grizzly H6265 Chuck

I am thinking about purchasing the H6265 chuck. I have looked over the grizzly website but cannot determine how large the recess can be for the bottom of a bowl with the jaws that come with it. They list a minimum diameter expansion of 1 13/16 but not the maximum.

Does anyone have this particular chuck? How do you like it?

I have made a few bowls (<20) and am wanting to upgrade to a chuck. This model gets good reviews (however only 4 on amazon). But it uses a hex key and not the tommy bars.

I have a jwl1236 lathe.

The Grizzly chuck is basically identical to the VicMarc VM-100 -- look at the VM-100 on woodturnerscatalog.com for specs. Look at left side of homepage for "browse our catalog" - page 38 and 39 of the 2010 catalog get you complete specs.

I have a couple of the Grizzly chucks and they are good value for the money.
