Dave, they are spalted soft maple from Jeff's wood run in August. I do have some QS Beech which might end up in a box like this. :-D The lid is cut just a bit larger then the box so it is a simple but effective lift off design.

Now you see why scrollers need real wood from time to time. :lol:
