    Side Table for LOML

My wife had been wanting a table to go beside her recliner for several months. The one she had was way too small for the magazines and books she likes to read. Fortunately, Bill Clemmons was kind enough to give me a few pieces of oak back several months ago, so I decided that this was the...

    First project was for LOML

I completed this on Christmas Eve. It was a gift for LOML and the first project to come out of the new WIP shop. It stands roughly 11" high by 16" long by 2" deep. Hard so see in the pics but it 4 pieces. It is made out of 1/8" baltic birch plywood. Sorry about the pic quality.

    Outdoor Table for the LOML

Finally a project finished. I have mentioned before that the loml enjoys feeding and caring for birds, and I mean loves it. She had been setting seeds and water on an old wooden spool that I pulled out of the dumpster at work and painted several years ago. The spool has seen its better days and...

Good news and a big surprise from the LOML

Went to the DR Friday and now I am able to start bending my knee. I am doing PT to regain the range of motion. I am surprised how much I can NOT move it. On Saturday my wife took me outside in the wheel chair for some sun and air and surprise she cleaned and rearranged the shop so it was wheel...

    Collaboration with LOML

While picking up some oak at Scott's, Matt prodded me to post a couple pictures. My wife is a potter and we finally got to work on a piece together. She made a 12X12 tile, based on an architectural style she's been playing with. I built a table to showcase it, using maple and poplar. I'd make...

    New Throne for LOML

Just finished from Lyptus wood. The wood is hard, but not as bad as Ash or Hickory. I kind of like the "zebra" grain pattern that it displays. I guess it happened! :dontknow:

    Update on LOML

Hey fellow sawdust makers! I know I haven't been on much lately, but some of you know why. My wife took a bad spill going into the garage on the 4th of July and broke one ankle and sprained the other. It has been a long road of recovery, but she is doing much better. As you can imagine...

    LOML could not wait......

LOML could not wait for me to build bar chairs so she bought these at a killer deal. They are stained but do not have a finish on them. The directions said to use "teak oil" but I was thinking of General Finshes Arm-R-Seal Oil & Urethane Topcoat in Satin. My big question is should I use the GF...

    LOML's first furniture project

My wife is in the design program at UNCG. She just finished her first furniture project, a "magic carpet" bench. The bench is constructed of baltic birch plywood with bloodwood accents (spacers). Lots of bandsaw and template routing involved. I think she did a great job!

Somthing for the LOML and her feathered friends

The misses loves feeding and watching birds and I think we're spending as much feeding them as we do feeding us. Here's a couple of feeders I finished this week for her. This made based on a pic in BirdsandBlooms magazine. I used Cypress and really like to work with it rubbed down with...

Better use for the LOML credit cards.....

My wife got a bunch of new cards from her credit accounts. I thought that the old ones could be put to better use than just being thrown out. SO i chopped them up and threw them in as segments in a few pens I turned today. Curly ERC, with a Gabon Ebony CB and CC accents on a copper Euro kit...

I finally got the kitchen hutch that my wife wanted for Christmas finished. She didn't expect it to be done for Xmas proper, she had me making too many other things instead, although she has got a little impatient as it gets closer to being done. The design is my own, with inspiration from an...
