Took me about a year to complete but also built a spring pole lathe, saw horses and a steam box along the way. Learned a lot. I will think twice before rejecting the idea to carve so much barley twist. Not sure my hands will recover. Once again no power tools used. (though I didn't cut the tree down and mill the lumber). Mahogany finished with trans tint dye, dewaxed shellac, gel stain and then a one lbs cut of seedlac shellac. Followed by dark briwax. Learned a bunch but don't think I will ever have the patience to make two of anything. I need to make 3 pieces my kids can fight over. A grandmother clock is on the list but dont know what #3 is. Thanks for your patience with all of my posts during this period. Glad its finally complete. PS Used many of my grandfathers tools. Although I dont like the "2010" part of the stamp those are his stamps so I was happy to use them. ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1ccasion1
