I saw it in the Klingspors Cary store on Wednesday. I have no idea if they have it in stock or if it is on sale. You may want to give them a call to see if they can offer a deal. Otherwise buy from Rockler and upgrade later. I think this was a recent upgrade option from Dewalt, although long overdue. I have previously upgraded my unit with the Byrd shellix. It is a very good machine with and without the upgrade. Good luck

There's a world of difference between the DW735 and the DW734 planers. It's a lot more than 1" extra cutting width. The DW735 is as good as you can get in a bench top planer. It will way out last the cheaper DW734. Classic case of "you get what you pay for."

My budget just could not reach there so I was looking at a Hercules from HF as I heard they were a copy of the 734 which would leave me room for a Bora stand. With the price drop today on the 734 that puts it at just 75.00 more than the HF so I think I will go for it and hope the best with at least a real Dewalt..

You will not regret it.

I'm kicking around the idea of upgrading to a 3hp planer, but the dewalt is the best of its kind. Save up for the Carbide head when you can.

Last I looked the dewalt 735x bundle was $599 on Amazon. Doesn’t say it’s a Black Friday/cyber Monday deal so you can get a price match from HD or Lowes. I got a price match when it was $620 on Amazon, at Lowe's since I had a $50 gift card to use there as well.

Yep I saw that but with stand it did not fit my budget. The one I got from Alli includes the out feed tables and I got a Bora stand with out feed rollers and wheel locks built in all for 580.00 TT&L and that was 80.00 above what I should have spent!

To be honest if you're just getting one of those styles of lunchbox planers I'd do a WTB ad here or just check craigslist for a bit. You'd probably find one for much less money. Buy a set of new blades and you'd be good to go.

Well I went and bought the 734 for 435.00. So I guess I will find out if this tool is something I will use. If not at least it is a DeWalt so not to hard to unload. I am looking forward to the journey to find out thou.
