When I made mine i slightly slotted the mounting holes for the rear backer board - using bolts and nuts it allowed me to true the rear fence with the blade and then lock it down while the square was in place to make sure it didn't move. Then you need to check it with a scrap and if it needs tweaking you just need to loosen a bolt or 2 or maybe 3 and tap it into register....hope this helps

The main fence on mine was square up as close as possible with an accurate framing square. Then I added a replaceable MDF face on the front of the fence. This makes it convenient for routing t-slots directly in the MDF, maintaining a zero clearance on the rear fence and also it's easy to shim the MDF fence to 90 square with the blade.
