Whils't cleaning out a 1/4 inch mortise with my hand chisel, it broke!
Leaving me with @60 percent chisel. I was loathing the idea of replacing, so I decided to attempt to regrind/repair (1st attempt).
I filed the top square with a mill file, using my Starrett double square to check for square.
Then used the old tip's angle to set up my grinder, rough ground to shape and then used a fine grit wet stone to finish grind, hone and then used some metal polish to buff to a mirror finish
And.......
Better, sharper than ever. Cut on hands to prove it!
Not as difficult as originally thought.
Thanks for looking.
